One of Only 60 bespoke examples made (This bike is #52), these Triumph Trident T160 Specials were all hand built by the legendary Les Williams, Manager of the Triumph Factory Competition Department. The same man who built the infamous Slippery Sam T150 Trident Production race bike that won the TT on no less than 5 separate occasions, including the gruelling 10 Lap 1975 Production TT race (That's 337 racing miles around the IOM TT mountain course!) Each machine was hand built to offer greater performance and reliability than the original production bike that they are based upon. This particular T160 Legend has the distinctive and stylish GRP humped solo race seat and rear mudguard unit, upswept high flow silencers header pipes and the larger capacity alloy race fuel tank with Monza filler cap, as fitted to the original Slippery Sam. The bike is fitted with all an oil cooler, oil pressure gauge, sports handlebars, twin front discs and Akront flanged alloy wheel rims. The bike is supplied with documented service and rebuild history including ALL correspondence between the owner who commissioned the bike and Les Himself. We have never seen so much paperwork and history with any bike! Its Fascinating and must be seen to be appreciated. This machine is being sold as a collector’s item, part of a stunning private collection of Vintage and Classic machines that have all been dry stored for several of years and will require some light recommissioning prior to use.
